What’s New: Journal Entry Details

We’ve upgraded our journal entry system to provide stronger point-in-time accuracy, faster performance, and a clearer audit trail.

Journal entries are now preserved exactly as they were booked on a given date. You can view your financials “as of” any historical moment—giving you greater confidence during month-end close, reporting, and audits.

Because entries are precomputed and stored as point-in-time impacts, pages load faster and more consistently—especially for larger datasets.

When upstream platforms (like Amazon or Shopify) update transaction data, Blue Onion automatically captures those changes by generating clearly documented adjustment entries. You’ll always see what changed, when it changed, and the impact—without any manual work required.

Deeper Investigation in One Place

Within the Journal Entry details page you can click on the Source Record where you can now:

  • View the underlying source records tied to each entry

  • Click into those records to access a full transaction timeline

  • See all related journal entries connected to that transaction

Everything you need for a thorough investigation is now connected in one place.

What This Means for You

  • Stable, point-in-time journal entries

  • Faster and more reliable load times

  • Clear visibility into adjustments

  • Complete transaction-level drill-through

  • A full audit trail

  • Greater confidence syncing to your GL
